We bid farewell to Earl F. Witte of Rapid City, South Dakota, whose journey of life gracefully concluded on October 8, 2025 at the age of 96. Earl touched countless lives with warmth and kindness, leaving behind cherished memories that will forever echo in hearts. He was predeceased by: his parents, Herman Meinert Witte and Augusta Carolyn Bals Witte; his wife Bert; and his son Harold. He is survived by: his children, Joyce Williamson (Larry) of Sturgis, SD, Thomas (Colleen) of San Antonio, TX, Steven (Nancy) of Elizabeth, CO, Paul (Theresa) of Rapid City, SD and Rusty (Hope) of Hot Springs, SD; and his daughter-in-law Esperanza Witte of Hot Springs, SD.. He is also survived by 22 grandchildren, 39 great-grandchildren, and 5 great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, October 12th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church (538 University Ave, Hot Springs, SD 57747). A vigil service will be held on Sunday, October 12th 2025 at 6:00 PM at the same location. A funeral Mass will be held on Monday, October 13th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the Cathedral of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church (520 Cathedral Dr, Rapid City, SD 57701). A committal service will be held on Tuesday, October 14th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the Black Hills National Cemetery (20901 Pleasant Valley Dr, Sturgis, SD 57785).
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Diocese of Rapid City Diaconate Program.
