He was predeceased by: his parents, Henry Paul and Mary Paul (LaVoie); and his brothers, Raymond and William. He is survived by: his wife Anna Mae Paul; and his children, Michele Oistad (Jim), Michael Paul (Karen) and Carol Nelson (James). He is also survived by eight grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren with one on the way; and a great-great-grandchild.
