He was predeceased by: his parents, Herb Veal and Doris Veal (Hobaugh); his grandparents, Doris, Francis and Lucile; his sister Lucile; his brother-in-law Harold Gibbons; his brothers, Clayton Veal and Merle Eugene Veal; and his niece Eleanor Gibbons Smith.
He is survived by: his close friend Alma Chesnut of Rapid City.
The inurnment will be held on Friday, October 9th 2026 at 2:00 PM at the Chance Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Friday, October 9th 2026 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM and on Saturday, October 10th 2026 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Evanson Jensen Funeral Homes (501 7th Ave W, Lemmon, SD 57638). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 10th 2026 at 10:00 AM at the Bison Presbyterian Church.
