Jeanette Ruth Thorstenson Obituary
It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Jeanette Ruth Thorstenson of Rapid City, South Dakota, who passed away on June 13, 2025, at the age of 94, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Ed Staufer and Hilda Staufer; her husband Bud Thorstenson; her siblings, Harley Staufer and Joyce Baker; and her son Mark McGough.
She is survived by: her sister Jane Samuelson (Don); her children, Allan McGough (Wina), Patrick McGough (Betty), Karen Vidal (Patrick), Jeff McGough, Joan McGough and Mary Gill (Brian); her stepchildren, Linda Sietsema (Larry), Janet Ronneberg (Ron), Marie Thorstenson and Paul Thorstenson; and her grandchildren, Melissa Hennings (Scott), Mike Bradshaw (Mikayla), Michaela Bradshaw (Eric), Matthew Vidal, Joshua Long, Dustin McGough, Shannon Church (Cory), Mindy Ugland and Brittany Malott (Seth). She is also survived by many step-grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Monday, June 23rd 2025 at 5:00 PM at the Blessed Sacrament Church (4500 Jackson Blvd, Rapid City, SD 57702). A vigil service will be held on Monday, June 23rd 2025 at 6:00 PM at the same location. A funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, June 24th 2025 at 10:30 AM at the same location. A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, June 24th 2025 at 1:30 PM at the Black Hills National Cemetery (20901 Pleasant Valley Dr, Sturgis, SD 57785).
Memorial contributions may be made to Blessed Sacrament Church.
