It is with sadness that the passing of Jeannette Yvonne Ofstad of Rapid City, South Dakota is shared. Jeannette, born on September 27, 1935, passed away on September 19, 2026. Jeannette will be remembered for the time spent with loved ones and the moments that brought joy to those around her. Friends and family will honor Jeannette by reflecting on shared memories and the positive influence she had in their lives. Though Jeannette is no longer present, the bonds she created and the experiences shared will endure. Jeannette’s memory will continue to be a source of comfort for all who knew her.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Ole Lykken and Goldie Lykken (Newbold); her husband Jerry Ofstad; and her siblings, Elna Erickson (Solbue), Betty Jamtgaard, Melvin Lykken and Gene Lykken.
She is survived by: her children, Randy Ofstad (Jeanette "Jett"), Jeff Ofstad and Rhonda Ofstad (Troy). She is also survived by five grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; 6 step-great-grandchildren; and numerous niecs and nephews.
A memorial service was held on Wednesday, September 23rd 2026 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Kirk Funeral Home & Cremation Services (1051 E Minnesota St, Rapid City, SD 57701). A burial was held on Thursday, September 24th 2026 from 9:00 AM to 9:30 AM at the Black Hills National Cemetery (20901 Pleasant Valley Dr, Sturgis, SD 57785).
