We announce the death of Laverne Francis Bauer of Rapid City, South Dakota, who passed away on September 9, 2026, at the age of 88. Laverne’s absence will be deeply felt by those who valued his companionship.
He was predeceased by: his parents, John Sr. Bauer and Erma Bauer (Walker); and his brother Clay Bauer. He is survived by: his wife Helga Bauer of Rapid City, SD; his sons, Vernon "Scott" Bauer (Jane) of Fresno, CA, Rick Bauer (Frances) of Murrieta, CA and William Bauer of San Diego, CA; and his brother John Bauer Jr. (Georgine) of Arizona. He is also survived by four grandchildren; three great grandchildren.
A memorial service was held on Saturday, September 12th 2026 at 1:00 PM at the Kirk Funeral Home & Cremation Services (1051 E Minnesota St, Rapid City, SD 57701).
