With profound sadness, we say goodbye to Rex Avery Field of Rapid City, South Dakota, whose vibrant spirit touched the lives of many. Rex left this world on November 27, 2025 at the age of 83, leaving a void in the lives of so many people. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
Though Rex has departed this earthly realm, his legacy endures — a legacy of love that will continue to illuminate the lives of family and friends in the darkest of hours. May his spirit soar on wings of eternal peace, forever cherished in the tender embrace of memory.
He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Ward Field and Esther Field (Mance); his wife Linda Carpenter; and his children, Trevor and Katie.
A memorial service will be held on Thursday, December 11th 2025 at 10:30 AM at the First Presbyterian Church (710 Kansas City St, Rapid City, SD 57701). The inurnment will be held on Thursday, December 11th 2025 at 1:30 PM at the Black Hills National Cemetery (20901 Pleasant Valley Dr, Sturgis, SD 57785).
In lieu of flowers, Rex requested that memorials be directed to the First Presbyterian Church.
