He was predeceased by: his parents, Bill Patten and Reva Van Patten (McClanahan); and his wife Patricia Nohr. He is survived by: his daughter Rhonda; and his siblings, Don, Mike and Lynn.
A graveside service was held on Thursday, November 6th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the Black Hills National Cemetery (20901 Pleasant Valley Dr, Sturgis, SD 57785).
