He was predeceased by: his parents, Einer Sorensen and Alma Sorensen (Ross); his son Jon; and his great grandchild Justice Wingate. He is survived by: his wife Cheryle Krebs; and his children, Doug Sorensen (Karen) of Rapid City, Cherie Koch (Stan) of Rapid City, Jim Sorensen (Brenda) of Rapid City, Jeff Sorensen (Nancy) of Muscatine and Jay Sorensen (Steph) of Beatrice, Nebraska.. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren.
A burial will be held on Friday, October 10th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 11:30 AM at the Black Hills National Cemetery (20901 Pleasant Valley Dr, Sturgis, SD 57785). A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, October 11th 2025 at 10:30 AM at the Canyon Lake Methodist Church (3500 Canyon Lake Dr, Rapid City, SD 57702).
