He was predeceased by : his parents, Elton McLaughlin and B'and Charlotte G. McLaughlin (Stievener); and his siblings, Dorsie D. Tice and Raymond T. McLaughlin. He is survived by : his siblings, J. Clynell Freeman (Lanny) of Midwest City, OK, James W. Sims III of Copperopolis, CA, Douglas A. McLaughlin of Roseburg, OR and L. Charlene Kornmeyer (David) of Black Hawk, SD. He is also survived by 15 Nieces and Nephews.

A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, July 10th 2024 from 10:00 AM to 10:30 AM at the Black Hills National Cemetery (20901 Pleasant Valley Dr, Sturgis, SD 57785).
