He was predeceased by: his parents, Julius Meyer and Louise Meyer (Heckenlaible); his wife Nancy Wheeler; and his siblings, Ervin Meyer, Leo Meyer, Wilbur Meyer, Fred Meyer, Leonna Brooks, Charmaine Schmille, Delores Shepherd and Shirley Leigh.
He is survived by: his children, Gary of Puyallup, WA, Karen Edmiston of Lady Lake, FL, Sandy Massa of Rapid City, SD, John Meyer (Amy) of Rapid City and Kevin Meyer (Sonia) of Redfield; and his brother Robert Meyer of Orient, SD.. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandchild.
Visitation was held on Monday, March 9th 2026 from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM at the Redfield - Redfield Methodist Church (1326 W 1st St, Redfield, SD 57469). A funeral service was held on Monday, March 9th 2026 at 10:30 AM at the same location. The military honors was held on Monday, March 9th 2026 at the Redfield - Greenlawn Cemetery.
