Linn Samelson Obituary
With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Linn Samelson of Redfield, South Dakota, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on July 9, 2025 at the age of 76. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Virgil Samelson and Mary Samelson; his siblings, Gordon Samelson, Lawrie Samelson and Pamela Samelson; his sister-in-law Theresa Samelson; his grandparents, Clarence and Grace Samelson; and his great-niece Emerald Kennedi Beck.
He is survived by: his brother Gordy; his wife Charlotte "Sandy" Samelson; his daughter Traci Linn Samelson; his grandson Weston David Waldner; his brother Virgene "Gene" Samelson; his children, Cody Samelson and Corrina Jean Beck (Matthew); his grandchildren, McKenna, Kensi and Maecie Beck; his great grandchildren, Jamie Samelson, Troy Samelson and Michelle Profeta-Cook; and his cousin Lana Bonitz.
Visitation was held on Monday, July 14th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Hyke Funeral Home (101 E 7th Ave, Redfield, SD 57469). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, July 15th 2025 at 10:30 AM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, the family gratefully requests memorials be directed to the Wounded Warrior Project (PO Box 758516, Topeka, KS, 66675-8516) in memory of Linn.
