He was predeceased by: his parents, Anton Flottmeyer and Freda Flottmeyer (Weiss); his siblings, Merlyn Flottmeyer and Mary Kathryn Teller; and his half-siblings, Myron Cotton and Marge Faust.
He is survived by: his wife Marie Flottmeyer; his children, Kevin Flottmeyer (Susan) of Pierre, SD, Ron Flottmeyer (Cindy Brink) of Watertown, SD, Martia Siebrecht (Kevin) of Redfield and Mel Flottmeyer (Brenda) of Piedmont, SD.; his grandchildren, Justin (Melissa), Jesse (Whitney), Janelle (Tyson), Joanie (Chase), Shawn (Bryan), Ross, Randy, Madyson, Kayla (Dan) and Mark (Rhonda); his great grandchildren, Devon, McKenzie, Ava, Natalie, Ivy, Preston, Caden, Jase, Connor, Garret, Isaac, Allie, Kai and Lena; and his great great grandchild Teagan.
Visitation was held on Monday, June 2nd 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Hyke Funeral Home (101 E 7th Ave, Redfield, SD 57469). A rosary was held on Monday, June 2nd 2025 at 7:00 PM at the Redfield Knights of Columbus (902 W Commercial Ln, Redfield, SD 57469). A Mass of Christian burial was held on Tuesday, June 3rd 2025 from 10:30 AM to 11:30 AM at the Redfield - St. Bernard Catholic Church (217 E 6th Ave, Redfield, SD 57469). A burial was held on Tuesday, June 3rd 2025 at the Redfield - Greenlawn Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Redfield Senior Center or St. Bernard Catholic Church.
