He was predeceased by: his parents, Lena Nelson (Weber) and Adrian Nelson; his wife Rita Nelson (Keelin); his children, Kathy Nelson and Mark Brugger-Nelson; his brother Gary Nelson; his sons-in-law, Stanley Christensen, Russel Christman and Louis Ludwig; his brothers-in-law, Don Keelin and Larry Keelin (Terry); and his nephew Tad Keelin.
He is survived by: his children, Marvelle Paulsen (Bob), Todd Nelson (Jill) and Judy Grabinski (David) of Rockham, SD.; his grandchildren, Angela Rice (Travis), Sara Klapperich (Brock) of Conde, SD, Chris (Kristina), Trista Paulsen of Aberdeen, SD, Denae Paulsen of Brookings, SD, Nyakier Paulsen (Christian DeYoung) of Watertown, SD, Melakye Paulsen, Octavia Paulsen, Jennifer Kroon-Nelson, Nathan Grabinski, Adriane Armstrong (Mackenzie) of Piedmont, SD and Leah Grabinski; his great grandchildren, Oliva, Addyson Rice (Payton Moore), Grayson, Kora Klapperich, William, Peyton Paulsen, Bella Paulsen, Emersyn, Lucy, Charlee Grabinski and Bodhi Armstrong; his sisters-in-law, Reta Rose Nelson and Mary Lee Keelin; and his nieces and nephews, Dean, Dawn, Dana, Dara Nelson, Tony, Cory, Paula and Krissy Keelin.
