Rod Westby Obituary
In loving memory of Rod Westby (Rosholt, South Dakota), who departed this world on July 19, 2025 at the age of 74. Rod leaves behind a legacy remembered by family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Cyril Westby and Helen Westby (Carlson); his brother Doyle; and his sisters-in-law, Carol Moeckly and Janet Cory.
He is survived by: his wife Lois Wickander; his children, Ben Westby (Monica) of Rosholt, Katie Smith (Chad) of Rosholt and Andy Westby (Erin) of Kindred, ND; his grandchildren, Kiara, Ella, Addison Westby, Zachary and Khloe; his brothers, Eldon Westby (Sherri), Curt Westby (Myrna) and Brent Westby (Ellen); his in-laws, Jay Cory, Kirk Moeckly, Donna and Randy Holman; and his aunt Violet Milbrandt. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Visitation was held on Thursday, July 24th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM and on Friday, July 25th 2025 at 9:00 AM at the St. Joseph Lutheran Church (10745 475th Ave, Rosholt, SD 57260). A prayer was held on Thursday, July 24th 2025 at 7:00 PM at the same location. A funeral service was held on Friday, July 25th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the same location.
