He was predeceased by: his parents, Alfred Vig and Sophie Vig (Salveson); and his siblings, Lorayne Lien (Harold), Janet Pistorius (Laurel), LaVerna Ystebo and Marlin Vig.

He is survived by: his wife Darlene Olstad of Rosholt, SD; his children, Lori (David) of Alexandria, MN and Brian (Anne) of Fargo, ND; his grandchildren, Jessica Buss (Gus), Sophie Anderson (Ethan), Gavin Vig, Madeline Cano, Natalie Cano, Michael Cano and Jack Cano; and his siblings-in-law, Phyllis Vig of Dilworth, MN and Stuart Ystebo of Fargo, ND. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, godchildren, and cousins.

Memorials are preferred to be directed to the Bethel Cemetery Association.
