We are sad to announce that on September 8, 2022, at the age of 89, Ella VanEmmerik of Salem, South Dakota passed away. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by : her parents, Gottlieb Schmeichel and Adella Schmeichel (Heibel); her siblings, Albin Schmeichel and Adeline Buechler; and her son Don.

She is survived by : her husband Leonard Van Emmerik; and her children, Jim (Nancy) of Longmont, Dwayne (Carol) of Salem, Marilyn Konda (Steve) of Marion and Debbie Grahek (Kirk) of Rapid City. She is also survived by 12 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren and 2 step-great grandchildren.
