He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph Stiefvater and Elizabeth Stiefvater (Feterl); his wife Joan Mae; his sons, Daniel, Ronald and David; his daughter-in-law Jean (David); and his siblings, Eileen Riddle (George), Doris Schaffer (Jim), LouElla Weber (Jerome) and John Stiefvater.
He is survived by: his children, Bob (Connie) of Garretson, Brad (Jill) of Salem, Nannette of Spearfish, Nick of Boulder, WY, Ken of Watertown, Kathy of Sturgis and Mary of Piedmont; and his sister-in-law Liz Stiefvater. He is also survived by 7 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild.
