He was predeceased by : his parents, John Steder and Irma Steder; his brothers, Raymond Steder and William Steder; and his grandson Spencer Briscoe.

He is survived by : his wife Debra Steder; his son Jonnathon Steder (Kaitlyn) of Selby; his stepdaughter Melissa Briscoe (Sean) of Sturgis, SD.; his grandchildren, Derek, Kayla Briscoe, Abby Briscoe, Jordyn Bass, Ashley Briscoe, Spencer Bush Graslie and Pria Bass; and his great grandchildren, Camden Briscoe and Charli Sue Briscoe.

“I used to work at Shorty's in selby and Don was a regular. He'd come in daily to drink his coffee and play a dollar on the poker machine. He and I spent countless hours together just talking. Don was a very smart man, but also a very funny man. He always had a joke to share every time he came in. We would go back and forth with jokes and talk about the world we lived in. He always found a way to sneak God into the jokes as well. I will never forget all the great convos we shared”
