He was predeceased by: his parents, William "Billy" Keppen and Anna Keppen (Eschenbaum); his wife Bonnie; his brother Clare Keppen (Mary); his brother-in-law Ron Giese; his niece Donna Oines; and his nephews, Steve and Jim Keppen.
He is survived by: his sons, Mike Keppen (Alla) of Sioux Falls and Bruce Keppen (Nancy) of Sioux Falls; his grandchildren, David Keppen (Tina), Lennon Keppen, Renae Schmidt (Justin), Thomas Keppen, Joseph Keppen (Emma), Katie Dressman (Zach) and Dan Keppen (Lily); his great grandchildren, Blair, Krista and Garrett Schmidt; and his sister Gloria Giese of Arizona. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
