He was predeceased by: his grandparents, Al, Esther Van Gundy and Don Kruger; and his mother-in-law Annette Davis. He is survived by: his parent Lorry Van Gundy (Kruger) of Auburn, Nebraska; his wife Becky; his sisters, Staci Edgington (Joe) of Seward and Hannah Jones (Terry) of Brownville, Nebraska; his brother-in-law Brian Davis (Aly) of Sioux Falls; his nieces and nephews, Kylie, Austen Edgington, Graycen, Griffin, Finn Jones, Brayden, Grayson, Loxley Davis, Norah, Clara and Ava Hill; and his grandmother Mary Kruger of Auburn. He is also survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins, dear friends, and his firehouse family.

Memorials may be made to Ava's Hospice House or Sioux Falls Firefighters Benevolent Foundation in honor of Brook's dedication, courage, and compassion.
