With sadness, we share the passing of Doris Elaine Swanson (Sioux Falls, South Dakota). Doris, born on November 17, 1924, passed away on September 30, 2026. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, John Weber and Martha Weber (Heitzman); her husband Harold; and her children, Judy and Steve.
She is survived by: her daughters, Linda Schempp (Perry) and Ann Swanson; her grandchildren, Rachel Ballard (Bill), Michael Akland (Amber), Ben Schempp (Caitlin), Leah Orr (Joe), Melissa Akland (Trevor), Kami Weber (Matt), Callie Muth (Korey) and Heather Lensegrav; her great grandchildren, Vivian, Norah, Brinley, Emmie, Stassi, Annie, Booker, Zoey and Mia; her sisters, Marian Phillips and LuAnn Warner; her sister-in-law Charlotte Weber; Janet Lensegrav (Lee).
Visitation will be held on Sunday, October 4th 2026 from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Miller Funeral Home Downtown Chapel (507 S Main Ave, Sioux Falls, SD 57104). A funeral service will be held on Monday, October 5th 2026 at 10:30 AM at the Downtown Chapel.
She cared for her mother while she was dying of cancer, and in later years, cared for Harold while he was battling Alzheimer's disease.
