She was predeceased by: her parents, Fred Bies and Dorothy Bies (Rhodes); her siblings, Tom Bies and Dorothy Broom; and her husband Ray Sommer.
She is survived by: her children, Bob Sommer (Julie) of Burnsville, MN, Mike Sommer (Vickie) of Burnsville, MN, Terry Sommer (Carol) of Sioux Falls, Rae Ann Buntrock (Kevin) of Rapid City, SD and Karen Erotas (John) of Scottsdale, AZ.. She is also survived by her 11 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, and 4 great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Friday, October 16th 2026 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Miller Funeral Home (7400 S Minnesota Ave, Sioux Falls, SD 57108). A celebration of life will be held on Friday, October 16th 2026 at 2:00 PM at the Miller Southside Chapel (7400 S Minnesota Ave, Sioux Falls, SD 57108).
