With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Glen E. Poppinga of Sioux Falls, South Dakota, who passed away on December 12, 2025 at the age of 80. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
Though his name may fade from the lips of time, the imprint Glen leaves upon the hearts of his loved ones remains eternally vivid — a testament to the depth of his spirit and the richness of his legacy.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Peter Poppinga and Hilka Poppinga; and his sister Mavis Carlson. He is survived by: his daughter Dionne Pignataro (Steve); his grandchildren, Hannah and Andrew; his son Eric Poppinga (Amy); his grandsons, Cole and Luke; and his siblings, Alan Poppinga (Carol), Joyce Sisson and Ruth Sperling (Stan). He is also survived by his wife, children, and grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, December 28th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the Miller Funeral Home (6200 W 41st St, Sioux Falls, SD 57106). A funeral service will be held on Monday, December 29th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the First Baptist Church (1401 S Covell Ave, Sioux Falls, SD 57105).
