It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Hattie J Van Heerde of Sioux Falls, South Dakota, who passed away on December 18, 2025, at the age of 103, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Joe Tubergen (Nellie) and Nellie Tubergen (Schut); her husband Fred Van Heerde; her son David Van Heerde; her sons-in-law, Burton Nienhuis and Gene Van Hill; and her siblings, Gerrit Tubergen (Gervenere), Henry Tubergen (Anetta), Fred Tubergen (Corneil), Helen Top (Henry), Elsie Smith (Al) and Fanny Miersma (Paul).
She is survived by: her children, Sue, Dianne Van Hill of Renner, SD, Nevonne'Sue'Nienhuis of Lake Forest, CA and Mark Van Heerde (Janice) of Vacaville, CA; her grandchildren, Kevin Van Hill (Michele), Dawn Schoenecker (Brian), Wanda Hodgin (Tim), Kelly Nienhuis, Tim Nienhuis, Joe Nienhuis (Melissa), Amanda Coursey (Kevin) and Matthew Van Heerde; her great grandchildren, Nicole Van Hill (Zach Gannon), Maranda Van Hill (Brandon Sawtell), Jarid Schoenecker (Hailey), Josh Schoenecker (Alexis), Emily Hodgin and Charlie Hodgin; her grandchildren, Brooke Halvorson (Dale), Lukas Nienhuis, Jake Nienhuis, Caleb Nienhuis, Summerlyn Nienhuis, Kinsley Nienhuis, Bailey Coursey, Colton Coursey, Christopher Van Heerde, Madelyn Van Heerde and Owen Van Heerde; and her great great grandchildren, Lily, Tora, Isla Rose, Maeve, Tommy and Oliver.
