With solemn reverence, we commemorate Helen VanLiere of Sioux Falls, South Dakota, whose life came to an end on February 8, 2026 at the age of 88, leaving behind cherished memories. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Ernest Gildemeister and Anna Gildemeister (Kahrs); her husband Melvin Van Liere; her siblings, Heine, Helmuth, Gunter, Harvey, Elfreida, Margaret and Mildred; and her parents-in-law, Peter and Dena Van Liere.
She is survived by: her daughters, Lori Bauder (Troy) of Larchwood, IA and Dawn Ketterling (Mike); her grandchildren, Rachel Brolsma (Carson), Grace Bauder (Mason Rozeboom), Sara Bauder, Peyton Ketterling and Jaxon Ketterling; her great grandchild Micah Brolsma; and her sisters-in-law, Esther Van Liere, June Van Liere and Elaine Van Liere. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
She enjoyed the many friendships she made there over the years and the satisfaction of making quilts and donating them to various causes.
