It is with great sadness that we announce the death of James Petoske of Sioux Falls, South Dakota, who passed away on June 27, 2025, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Clarence Petoske and Arline Petoske (Nelson); his sister Jill Eckert; his mother-in-law Ardis McCormick; and his brother-in-law Leland Snook.
He is survived by: his wife Barbara of Sioux Falls; his children, Kory (April) of Harrisburg, Kevin (Emily) of Sioux Falls, Lori Yunker (Nick) of Cheyenne, WY and Amy Miller (Jordan) of Alcester, SD.; his grandchildren, Reese, Alexis, Gavin, Sam Petoske, Evalyn, Eric, Cannon and Hannah Yunker; his sisters, Barbara Jones (Morris) of Midland, Carol Snook of Alton, IL and Jody Block (Gary) of Midland; his father-in-law Robert McCormick of Philip, SD; and his siblings-in-law, Marcia McCormick of Kadoka, Nancy Majerus (Marv) of Buffalo, WY and Bob Eckert of Kadoka.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, July 5th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the St. William Catholic Church (205 Elm St, Midland, SD 57552). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, July 5th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
