It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Jennieve Schmidt of Sioux Falls, South Dakota, who passed away on September 11, 2024, at the age of 96, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Harm Geiken and Sophia Geiken (Stratmeyer); her husband Albert Schmidt; her children, Floyd Schmidt, Allen Schmidt and Brenda Schmidt; her grandson Michael Oines; and her siblings, Gerhard Geiken, Harvey Geiken and Jeanette Ludens.
She is survived by: her children, Sherry Sorensen (Bob), Donald Schmidt (Patty) and Daniel Schmidt; her sisters, Albertha Albers, Marion and Joyce Uhe; and also Lil Schmidt. She is also survived by 8 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren and 13 great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Monday, September 16th 2024 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Heritage Funeral Home (4800 S Minnesota Ave, Sioux Falls, SD 57108). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, September 17th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the St John American Lutheran Church (1912 W 13th St, Sioux Falls, SD 57104). A burial was held on Tuesday, September 17th 2024 at the Lennox Cemetery.
