She was predeceased by: her parents, Richard Knauss and Anna Mae Knauss. She is survived by: her husband Fred; her children, Jessica Espland (Justin) and Parker Reese (Grace); her brother Jeff Knauss (Mary Lou); and her sibling's children, Lindsey, Courtney and Bradley. She is also survived by seven grandchildren.
A memorial service was held on Sunday, July 13th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the Linwood Wesleyan Church (1101 E 57th St, Sioux Falls, SD 57108).
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Joan's memory to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
