It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Jody E. Schafer of Sioux Falls, South Dakota, born in Onawa, Iowa, who passed away on February 29, 2024, at the age of 48, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Joe Schafer and Doris Schafer (Clapper); his grandparents, Joseph, Kate Schafer, George and Josephine Clapper; his aunt Ruth Johnson; and his uncles, Jimmy Clapper and George "Buck" Clapper, Jr..
He is survived by: his wife Christina Schafer of Sioux Falls; his children, Chelsea Johnson (Nick Conyers), Zachary Johnson of Chamberland, Joseph, Dalston and Brett; his stepsons, Sean Mundahl of Hartford, Elijah Mundahl of Hartford, Rylee Mundahl of Hartford and Joshua Mundahl of Hartford; his grandchildren, Aurora, Zayla and Raiden; his sisters, Betty McCullock of Onawa and Teresa Stillman of Nebraska; and his aunts, Georgia Martin of Onawa and Norma Wilder of Onawa, Iowa. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
In lieu of flowers, memorials in Jody's memory may be made to the family.
