With sadness, we share the passing of John C. Hughes of Sioux Falls, South Dakota. John, born on August 11, 1943 in Fort Lewis, Washington, passed away on June 1, 2026. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Dr. Jack Hughes and Mary Hughes; his brother Tim Hughes; and his son-in-law Rick Kotovic. He is survived by: his wife Anne; his children, Mary Scheid (Chris), Pat Hughes (Chrisy) and Nancy Kotovic; his grandchildren, Ellie Scheid, RJ, Martha, Jimmy Hughes, Elizabeth and John Kotovic; and his sisters, Ann Carey and Kathy Friday (Roger).
There will be a private burial prior to Mass. The family requests, in lieu of flowers, donations be made in John's honor to Avera Foundation or Children's Home Society.
