He was predeceased by: his parents, John Gerber and Dorothy Gerber (Pflaum); his sister Lorraine Urbain (Orville); his mother-in-law Delilah Tesch; his sisters-in-law, Mary Woodford and Marilyn Schnoor; and his sibling's children, Mike Schnoor, Danny Farris and Diane Schmidt.
He is survived by: his wife Athelene Tesch; his daughter Michelle Stubkjaer (James) of Sioux Falls, SD; his grandchildren, Emma of Sioux Falls, SD, Isabella of Sioux Falls, SD, Sophie of Sioux Falls, SD and Jakob Stubkjaer of Sioux Falls, SD; his brother-in-law Delmar Schnoor of Albert Lea, MN; and his sibling's children, Richard Urbain of Dodge Center, MN, Janice Russell of Holman, WI, Clinton Woodford of Albert Lea, MN and Donna Saltou (Randy) of Glenville, MN. He is also survived by several cousins, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
A funeral service was held on Thursday, July 10th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the Dow Rummel Holiday-Peterson Chapel (1321 Dow Rummel St, Sioux Falls, SD 57104). Visitation was held on Monday, July 14th 2025 at 12:00 PM and at 1:30 PM. A graveside service was held on Monday, July 14th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the Graceland Cemetery (1800 W Main St, Albert Lea, MN 56007).
