He was predeceased by: his father George "Bill" Swoboda; his brother Terry Swoboda; and his in-laws, Floyd and Marie Dally. He is survived by: his mother Marjorie Swoboda (Raderschadt); his wife Dawn Swoboda; his children, Jamie Shields (Jeff), Jeff Swoboda (Sam) and Kelsey George (Matt); his grandchildren, Jackson Shields, Will Shields, Cole Shields, Nolan Swoboda, Camden Swoboda, Dawson Swoboda, Kane George, Merritt George, Barren George, Atlee George and Sadler George; his brothers, Rod Swoboda (Dixie) and Rick Swoboda (Deb); and his brothers-in-law, Joe Dally (Rose) and Jake Dally (Cathy). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life was held on Tuesday, December 2nd 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the George Boom Funeral Home Reception Center (3408 E 10th St, Sioux Falls, SD 57103).
In lieu of flowers or plants, the family kindly requests direct donations, which will be shared with the various youth sports organizations that were close to Kim's heart.
