Leslie Hernes Obituary
We are sad to announce that, on December 18, 2025, at the age of 94, Leslie Hernes of Sioux Falls, South Dakota passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Alfred Hernes and Gladys Hernes; his wife Wanda Anderson; his children, Karen Otto (Dave) and Eric Hernes (Suzie); his grandchildren, Elisabeth (Ethan), Jacob (Kayla), Caleb, Quintin and Spencer; his great grandchild Graham; his brothers, Joel (Sonja), Selmer (Jan), Paul and Burnette (Cheryl); his parents-in-law, Melvin and Henrietta Anderson; his brothers, Arvin and David; his in-laws, Betty Hernes, Arla Mae Hernes, Kathy Hernes, Russ, Phyllis Anderson, Dee and Bud Nelson; his nephew Charles Anderson; and his niece Ruth Hernes. He was also cherished by many nieces and nephews.
The family kindly asks that memorials be directed in Leslie's honor to Augustana University, Lutherans Outdoors of South Dakota, or a charity of your choosing.
