Linda E. Dean Obituary
We announce the death of Linda E. Dean of Sioux Falls, South Dakota, who passed away on September 24, 2026, at the age of 84. She was predeceased by: her parents, Marvin Calhoun and Arvilla Nelson Calhoun; her son Darrin Brian; her siblings, Wesley Calhoun (Leeann Quigley) and Colleen Gravelle (Wayne Calhoun); her in-laws, Glen and Clara Dean; and her brother-in-law Roger Dean (DJ).
She is survived by: her husband Darrold "Diz" Dean; her children, Lori Dean, Jay Dean (Christine) and Lisa Schaal (Ron); her grandchildren, Daniel Dean (Chonteaul), Tyler Schaal, Ashley Johnson (Jeff), Emily Learing (Adam), Brittany Muhs, Courtney Sabie (Chris), Jessica Lyons (Kelly) and Stephanie Burkman (Erik); and her sister-in-law Pam Calhoun.
Visitation will be held on Monday, September 28th 2026 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Miller Funeral Home - Westside Chapel (6200 W 41st St, Sioux Falls, SD 57106). A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, September 29th 2026 at 10:30 AM at the Holy Cross Lutheran Church (1300 S Sertoma Ave, Sioux Falls, SD 57106).
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks that memorials be made to the Children's Home Society or CASA.
