With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Lorraine Evonne Costello in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on March 27, 2026 at the age of 94. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Gunvald Torkelson and Julia Torkelson (Bjorloken); her husband Bill; and her siblings, Harold, Alice, Audrey, Glenn, Eunice, Clifford, Lulu, Evelyn and Gerald.
She is survived by: her children, Jim (Robyn) and Shawna of Sioux Falls; her grandchildren, Chelsey Mattson (Jesse), Cortney Bierle (Chris) of Sioux Falls, Caylee Costello of Brookings and Carley Schmidtman (Dan) of Rochester, MN.; and her great grandchildren, Connor, Chloe Bierle and Callum Schmidtman. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews.
In lieu of flowers, if so desired, memorials can be directed to Prince of Peace or Dougherty Hospice House.
