He was loved and cherished by many people including : his parents, Wilmer Flitz and Arlene Flitz (Knock); his spouse Deb Sinning; his sister LeAnn Wheeler; his children, Scott Flitz (Jaleen), Steve Flitz and Tamra Flitz (Jason Scott); his grandchildren, Emmett, Colton, Marlee, Ethan, Alexa, Hailey, Mason, Aden and Derek; and his sisters, Lois Stanfield, Lynette Foltz and Laurie Manthey.

Visitation was held on Sunday, April 28th 2024 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Dindot-Klusmann Funeral Home (408 S Main St, Lennox, SD 57039). A funeral service was held on Monday, April 29th 2024 at 10:30 AM at the Peace Lutheran Church (5509 W 41st St, Sioux Falls, SD 57106). A burial was held on Monday, April 29th 2024 at the Turner County Presbyterian Cemetery (28201 463rd Ave, Davis, SD 57021).
