He was predeceased by: his parents, Jack Putney and Lucille Putney; his wife Karen Jacob; his stepson Steve (Lisa); and his grandson Dalton.
He is survived by: his children, Mike Putney (Amy), Jeff Putney (Kim), Wendy LaVergne (John), Sandra Putney (Doug Nelson), Susan Haar (David), Ken Putney (Lessli), Cheryl Seichter (Tim) and Tonda Ellis (Brian); his sisters-in-law, Eileen Nelson and Marlys Brockberg (Dale); and his nieces, Marcia Ellis (Evan) and Angie (Kyle Huinker). He is also survived by grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
A reception will be held on Saturday, August 9th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Chapel Hill Funeral Home (901 S Minnesota Ave, Sioux Falls, SD 57104).
