The memory of Nicholas Joseph Kellen III of Sioux Falls, South Dakota, who passed away on May 10, 2025 at the age of 64, will forever remain in the hearts of those touched by this precious presence in their lives. He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Nicholas Joseph Kellen, Jr. and Mona Marie Kellen; his wife Dorene Louise Hanten; his children, Justine Marie Smith (Ryan), Katie Louise Hunter (Brett) and Nicholas Joseph Kellen IV (Annette); and his grandchildren, Natalie, Nicholas V, Cade, Odin, Duke, Quinn, Dottie and Reese.
He retired in 2019 and spent his retirement traveling with Dorene in their Leisure travel van, boating in Yankton, SD, playing his guitar, and avoiding large crowds during the pandemic.
The family requests that instead of gifts or flowers, donations may be made to the ALS Association in Memory of Nicholas Joseph Kellen III.
