He was predeceased by: his parents, William Beckman and Peryl Beckman (Olson). He is survived by: his siblings, Ron Beckman of Sioux Falls, David Beckman (Sandi) of Sioux Falls, Janice Schneider (Russ) of Sioux Falls and Marilyn Benson (Ed) of Parker, Arizona. He is also survived by his nine nephews and nieces; and his 17 grand-nephews and nieces.

Memorials may be made in Robert's honor to a cancer charitable organization of one's choosing.
