He is survived by: his children, Steve Garry (Teri) of Garland, TX, Diane Wempe (Jack) of Basehor, KS, Bill Garry (MaryKay) of Sioux Falls, SD, Sheila McCarthy (Tom) of West Seattle, WA and Susan Lorica (Ben) of San Francisco, CA.; his grandchildren, Sam Garry, Will Garry, Kerri Simoncic (Adam), Kelli Raboin (Dan), Ryan Wempe (Ashleigh), Andrew Wempe (Katie), Charlie Garry (Nikki), Meg Hammer (Collin), Patrick McCarthy (Andrea) and Phil McCarthy (Alexine); and his great grandchildren, Ben Garry, Sean, Kate, Claire Simoncic, Natalie, Jeff Raboin, Sophie, Olivia Wempe, Nate, Sam, Joel, Mikey Wempe, Cass Garry and Zoe McCarthy. He is also survived by his five children and their spouses.
Visitation will be held on Friday, October 2nd 2026 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM and on Saturday, October 3rd 2026 from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM. A wake will be held on Friday, October 2nd 2026 at 5:00 PM at the George Boom Funeral Home (3408 E 10th St, Sioux Falls, SD 57103). A funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, October 3rd 2026 at 10:30 AM at the Sacred Heart Chapel at Prince of Peace (4513 Prince of Peace Pl, Sioux Falls, SD 57103).
