He was predeceased by: his parents, George Zimmer and Alma Zimmer; and his siblings, Walter, Leroy, Harold, Eugene, Francis, Paul, Stanley Zimmer, Margaret Hulls, Marcella Keating and Mary Gruenke.
He is survived by: his wife Lynne Heikens; his family Lynne; his children, Tom Zimmer (Erin) of Billings, Montana, Sarah Meredith (Bill) of Sioux Falls and Kevin Zimmer of Sioux Falls; his grandchildren, Joseph, Patrick, Laura Zimmer, Kathleen and Paul Meredith; and his sisters, Rita Wear (Jack) and Lois Arnold (Harold). He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and extended family.
