In loving memory of Virgil E. Burress of Sioux Falls, South Dakota, who departed this world on May 7, 2025 at the age of 87. Virgil leaves behind a legacy remembered by family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Bazil Burress and Ruby Burress (Cox); his sister Lyla; and his brother-in-law Elroy Koepsell. He is survived by: his wife Barbara Burress; his sibling's children, Marlon Koepsell (Rene) of Canova, SD and Becky Thompson (Joe); and his siblings-in-law, Mary Brooks of Raleigh, NC, Kathleen Crowley, Roberta Dargen of Bandon, OR, Martha Dargen (Reuben) and Paul Dargen (Jacki) of Edmund, OK..

It was Virgil's wish that in lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Church at the Gate in his honor.
