He was predeceased by: his parents, Anton and Martha; his wife Madonna; his brothers, Robert, Donald and Eugene; and his grandson Aaron Alexander.
He is survived by: his children, David Steensma (Chris), Mary Perkins (James) and Dan Steensma (Tina); his grandchildren, Emily Steensma, Natalie Janot, Tylor Albrecht, Desiree Williams, Allyson Albrecht, James Perkins III, Derek Perkins, Ehlana Perkins, Noah Barringer, Kira Barringer, Kyle Anderson and Zachary Steensma; and his sisters, JoAnn Hauglid (Greg) and Janet Williams (John). He is also survived by 18 great-grandchildren.
