He was predeceased by: his parents, Martin Bartling and Irma Bartling (Tivis); his brother Derral Herbst; and his son John. He is survived by: his wife Sharon (Vedder); his daughters, Danielle Hunt (Shad) of Spearfish and Denise Dobbs (Chet) of Wellington, CO; his daughter-in-law Hilarie Bartling (Scantling) of Wellington, CO; his grandchildren, Jazmyn Hunt, Trey Dobbs, Izabella Bartling, Jaden Hunt and Gabbie Bartling; his siblings, Martin Bartling (Susan) and Terry Ann Whitmyre; his sisters-in-law, Bev Zammit (Ed), Diane Kranitsky (Jeff) and Mareth Vedder; and his friend Mike Cole. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
