A memorial service was held on Thursday, May 2nd 2024 at 11:00 AM at the Our Savior's Lutheran Church (1020 State St, Spearfish, SD 57783).

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be sent in Gene's name to athletic foundations at NSU, BHSU or to Heartland Home Health & Hospice.
