Janice left this world on March 29, 2026 at the age of 91, leaving a void in the lives of so many people. She was predeceased by: her parents, Emil Lindstad and Lucille Lindstad (McVey); her husband Don Helmer; her grandson Michael Johnson; her sister Betsy Mosely; and her siblings-in-law, Paul Dingeman and Mae Lindstad.

She is survived by: her daughter Cindy Johnson (Charlie) of Belle Fourche; her granddaughters, Kerri and Joni; her son Mike Helmer (Lori) of Beulah, WY; her grandchildren, Lacey, Tarina and Ryan; her daughter Jana Hoffman (Matt) of St. Onge; her grandchildren, Janesa, Marie and Kelsie; her son Scott Helmer (Elizabeth) of Trion, GA; her grandchildren, Seth, Trent, Margaret, Forrest and Haley; and her siblings, Wayne Lindstad of Spearfish and Joan Dingeman of Spearfish. She is also survived by 21 great grandchildren: and 1 great great grandchild.
