He was predeceased by: his parents, John Thompson and Theodora Thompson (Carlsen); his parents-in-law, Edmund and Loretta Orman; his siblings, John Thompson, Allen Thompson and Patty Fredlund; his niece Theresa Schmig; his brothers-in-law, Bill Diaz and Wilfred Fredlund; and his great-nephew Cooper O'Bray.
He is survived by: his wife Jane Orman of Stockholm, SD; his children, Alexander II, Julie Brennan of St. Paul, MN and Christopher Thompson (April) of Watertown, SD; his grandchildren, Corey (Thalia), Tobius, Miickel and Dmitrix; his great grandchildren, Mateo, Nico, Tomas, Lucus and Mia; and his siblings, Betty Campbell (Tom), Catherine Martenson (Dennis), Charles Thompson (Christy), James Thompson (Peggy), Dorothy Diaz-Thompson and David Thompson (Nadine). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
