He was predeceased by: his parents, John Thompson and Theodora Thompson (Carlsen); his parents-in-law, Erwin and Rose Heuer; his siblings, John Thompson and Patty Fredlund; his grandson Cooper O'Bray; his niece Theresa Schmig; and his brothers-in-law, Bill Diaz and Wilfred Fredlund.
He is survived by: his wife Myra Heuer of Stockholm, SD; his children, Rachel O'Bray (Matthew) of Herington, KS, Raquel Trinciante, Allen Thompson (Daphne) of Watertown, SD and Charli Thompson (Jacob Anspach) of Bird Island, MN; his grandchildren, Preston, Parker, Emma, Presley, Chase, Grayson, Samuel, Christofer, Alex, Sofia, Caden, Brayden, Zayden, Landyn and Aspyn; his stepgranddaughters, Carly and Maggie; and his siblings, Betty Campbell (Tom), Alex Thompson (Jane), Catherine Martenson (Dennis), Charles Thompson (Christy), James Thompson (Peggy), Dorothy Diaz-Thompson and David Thompson (Nadine). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
