He was predeceased by : his parents, Duane and Alice; his close friend Diane Will; and his children, Alexis Van Steenwyk and Kelly Van Steenwyk (Manny).

He is survived by : his brothers, Danny, Dale and David; his son-in-law John Fire; his granddaughter Clarice Fire; his great grandchild Cylas; his children, Jesse Van Steenwyk (Marlee) and Abbey Coyle (Jeremy); and his grandsons, Marek, Max and Micah.
